MTN has opened applications for its Cloud Accelerator Programme, a 12-week initiative offering funding, technical support, and scale infrastructure to growth-stage startups across Africa. The programme provides $65,000 in grants per cohort and access to MTN’s platforms, including MTN Cloud, MoMo, and Chenosis APIs.
Targeting startups in fintech, health-tech, ed-tech, agri-tech, and related sectors, the accelerator focuses on ventures with MVPs or live products, strong customer traction, and solutions for underserved or rural communities.
Selected startups will receive one-on-one mentorship, cloud credits, technical integration support, go-to-market guidance, VC introductions, and exposure through a final demo day. Post-programme support includes potential pilots, strategic partnerships, and M&A preparation.

Key Takeaways
MTN’s Cloud Accelerator distinguishes itself by going beyond capital to offer deep infrastructure and ecosystem integration. For African startups ready to scale, access to MoMo, Chenosis APIs, and MTN Cloud tools provides a strategic edge—especially in markets where distribution, payments, and cloud access remain barriers. Rather than focusing on early-stage ideation, the programme targets growth-stage companies with proven traction and sector-specific solutions. This increases the likelihood of commercial pilots, regional expansion, and investor-readiness. With telecoms increasingly acting as ecosystem builders in Africa’s startup scene, MTN’s initiative reflects a broader shift: leveraging telco assets to catalyze scalable innovation across key sectors of the continent’s digital economy.
